Gathered as one in the presence of the Holy Spirit,
we gather in the unity of love.

CALL TO WORSHIP Jenna and Steve Radford
(This may be read in unison and shared between two readers in your home)
With rushing wind and holy fire . . .
Come, Holy Spirit, come.
With tongues of flame and hopes rekindled. . .
Come, Holy Spirit, come.
With visions birthed and dreams restored . . .
Come, Holy Spirit, come.
With spacious grace and depth untold . . .
Come, Holy Spirit, come.
With rushing wind and holy fire . . .
Come, Holy Spirit, come.
HYMN OF PRAISE “This Is My Father’s World” TERRA PATRIS
Abby Kate Lumpkins, solo
This is my Father’s world and to my listening ears,
all nature sings and round me rings the music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world, I rest me in the thought
of rocks and trees, of skies and seas, His hand the wonders wrought.
This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise.
The morning light, the lily white declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world, He shines in all that’s fair.
In the rustling grass, I hear Him pass; He speaks to me everywhere.
This is my Father’s world; O let me ne’er forget that though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world, the battle is not done, Jesus, who died, shall be satisfied and earth and heaven be one.

PASTORAL PRAYER Rev. Aho
Spirit of truth, come among us to guide us in the footsteps of Jesus.
Amaze and astonish us with the gifts already present among us.
Awaken us to the wind and tongues of fire waiting to fill us with new life and vigorous hope.
May our meditations be pleasing to you and our service to others be truly helpful, that your great and glorious day may be realized in our midst. Amen.
MUSIC MEDITATION “A Mighty Rushing Wind” P. Drennan
For long the world had waited for the Spirit to descend, then on the day of Pentecost, there came a rushing wind.;
and all the faithful gathered there;
they began to shout in praise, and God poured out His glory
and His amazing grace.
Now all the saints were joined by the Spirit of the Lord.
Having all things then in common, they stood in one accord.
And today we, too, stand ready for the power to descend;
to feel a touch from heaven, and that mighty rushing wind.
A mighty rushing wind, a mighty rushing wind;
revive us with Your Spirit, Lord, we pray.
A mighty rushing wind, a mighty rushing wind;
blow upon our lives again today.

MESSAGE “Into the World” Rev. Aho Acts 2:1-21
OUR OFFERINGS
Taking an offering is an act of worship and a part of our service each week. It is
important to remember that our offering not only supports the ministry of the church but is an expression of our thankfulness for all God has given us. We give today because God gave first to us.
BENEDICTION
Even as the Spirit sends new visions and dreams, the Spirit sustains us with
ancient power and renewed strength and love.
Even as the Spirit sends us forth, the Spirit goes with us to lead the way. Amen
