Seventh Sunday After Pentecost
Sunday, July 19th, 2020

While we are waiting, God is waiting with us.
God’s promises are both now and yet to come.
Wait and see.

PRELUDE “Be Still and Know” S.C. Chapman
Haven Parrott, piano arr., M. Ham

Be still and know that He is God. Be still and know that He is holy.
Be still oh restless soul of mine. Bow before the Prince of Peace.

Let the noise and clamor cease.
Be still and know that He is God.

CALL TO WORSHIP Sydney & John Deal

We wait with hope,
for God’s promises are sure.
We wait with patience,
for God’s time is a mystery.
Come and worship.
We will wait upon the Lord together.

HYMN OF PRAISE “Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah”
CWM RHONDDA

Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah, pilgrim through this barren land.
I am weak, but Thou art mighty, hold me with your powerful hand.
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven, feed me ‘til I want no more.
Feed me ‘til I want no more.

Open now the crystal fountain, where the healing stream doth flow.
Let the fire and cloudy pillar lead me all my journey through.
Strong Deliverer, Strong Deliverer, Be Thou still my strength and shield, Be Thou still my strength and shield.

When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside.
Bear me through the swelling current, land me safe on Canaan’s side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises I will ever give to Thee,
I will ever give to Thee.

PASTORAL PRAYER Rev. Aho

Holy God of mystery and miracles,
reveal your presence to us in this time of worship.
When we are groaning and griping, comfort us
and forgive our shortcomings.
When we are doubting and afraid, comfort us
and reveal your promises to us.
Help us to trust with hope and wait with patience,
even as you patiently love us
with your mercy and grace.
In your loving name we pray. Amen.

MUSIC MEDITATION “10,000 Reasons” arr., L. Larson
Hailey, Kadence and Kelly Woodlief

Bless the Lord, O my soul, worship His holy name.
Sing like never before, O my soul, worship His holy name.

The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning.
It’s time to sing your song again.
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me,
let me be singing when the evening comes.
You’re rich in love and you’re slow to anger.
Your name is great and your heart is kind.
For all your goodness, I will keep on singing,
ten thousand reasons for my heart to find.
And on that day when my strength is failing,
the end draws near and my time has come.
Still my soul will sing your praise unending,
ten thousand years and then forevermore!

Bless the Lord, O my soul, I’ll worship your holy name.

MESSAGE “Battling the Weeds” Rev. Aho

OUR OFFERINGS
Taking an offering is an act of worship and a part of our service each week.
It is important to remember that our offering not only supports the ministry of the church but is an expression of our thankfulness for all God has given us.
We give today
because God first gave to us.

BENEDICTION
May patience guide our path.
May hope comfort our world.
And may love guide our lives.
We go with patience, hope, and love. Amen
